Today was a little better, except....

My team lost. My UGA Bulldogs. Oh well.
I saw some pics in the local paper that really caught my eye. Also, they made me VERY SAD. The pics were of American soldiers who were severely injured from bomb blasts, and who survived. The first one is of a soldier who basically had his face melted, in addition to lost fingers, and other assorted gruesome injuries. Beside him is his fiancee, yes, I said fiancee, and they are to be married. He is in his beautiful military uniform, and she is in her wedding dress. She is looking off at an angle from where the camera was, not smiling. The soldier is turned toward her. Another pic is of a soldier in his uniform, sitting, and wearing two prosthetic legs, because his were blown off by a roadside bomb. There were a few other pics but these two were on the front of the paper on two separate days.
I am sitting there crying while looking at these pics, and I am thinking, for God's sake, these men have gone through so much mental and physical pain, and I am carrying on about stupid shit. My problems are totally miniscule compared to these brave men, who have more courage than I could ever dream of.
These soldiers and several others are going to be featured on an HBO special Sunday night. I won't be able to watch as I don't get the channel. However, I saved these pics, and when I start bitching and moaning about piddly shit, all it takes is for me to pull them out, look at them, and consider myself lucky.
