I had a temp job that only lasted 6 days when it was supposed to be much longer. The staffing service said it would be doing data entry, scanning documents, and maybe answering the phones. It looked like a good fit. When I reported to the job, most of the people were friendly. The super said that they had plenty of work for me. A day before, the service had hired a girl to do data entry and answer the phones. On Thursday, this girl said that she was sick, and had to go home. I was then asked to sit at the front desk to answer phones. I said that I wasn't comfortable answering phones, because I have done it before. But, I went up to the front and did my data entry. Friday came, and the girl didn't show, so I had to sit at the front again. Late that same afternoon, that girl comes in wearing shorts and a t-shirt, and she looked very healthy. She told the super that she came in to get her timesheet signed and had found another full-time job. Well, this super was pissed, and I couldn't blame her. That stupid bitch didn't have the guts to say that she was unhappy.
Monday rolls around, and shit, I am back at the front. Only, I keep asking for work, and I keep getting told that I would have some in a few minutes. So, I spent the whole day bored after asking several times for work. At this time, I knew that something was up. After work, the lady at the staffing service calls and says that I don't have to go back to the job the next day. My first thought was that I wondered if I had done something, even though I knew I had done nothing wrong. She told me that the company liked me, but they needed someone to answer the phones. I don't fault the lady at the staffing service, on the contrary, she has been very nice to me. Ok, so why didn't these HYPOCRITES have the balls to be honest with me. What a bunch of fucking losers! So, the lady is going to try and find me something else.
